Synchronization Strategies

Countless synchronization programs have been introduced in the last decade. All are designed to increase reproductive efficiency. Regardless of the program you select, its success depends on following each step of the protocol.

Research pros and cons of common programs:

PRE-SYNCH enhances conception rate to timed AI, but protocol length discourages its use as a
re-synchronization tool.
CO-SYNCH makes cow management easier with reduced steps, but at cost to conception.
HEAT-SYNCH is an alternative to Ovsynch, but may not work on non-cycling cows.
SELECT-SYNCH (the oldest of the programs) is more of an estrus synchronization program then an ovulation synchronization protocol and relies heavily on heat detection.
