Ordering a prescription from Stearns Veterinary Outlet and Pharmacy is as simple as following three easy steps.
Your veterinarian is the only person who is qualified to diagnose and prescribe medications for your livestock or pets. We believe a Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) is the best means of determining an appropriate treatment.

Our in-house pharmacy can effectively deal with prescription issues to ensure fast, efficient delivery of the products you need. Stearns Veterinary Outlet Store cannot solicit prescriptions from your veterinarian on your behalf. We can, however, guide you through the process with the easy steps below.
Ordering an animal prescription or vaccination from SVO is as easy as 123.
Provide your veterinarian with a printed copy of the Prescription Form from our web site and ask him/her to fill it out for the products and number of refills you will need.

Or your veterinarian can choose to use his/her clinic's standard prescription form which should clearly indicate the following information:
  • -Veterinarian's license
  • -Veterinarian's clinic name, address phone and fax
  • -Client's name
  • -Product name, strength, size and quantity
  • -Number of times the prescription can be refilled
  • -Directions for use
  • -Species
  • -Animal I.D. or Group (for livestock or dairy prescriptions)
  • -Milk and /or meat withholds (for livestock or dairy prescriptions)
Your veterinarian can submit your prescription in one of the following ways.

Once your Prescription Form is on file in our pharmacy, you can order your prescription product from our online store, like you would any other product, by adding the product to your cart and checking out. Each of our three online stores (wedocows.com, wedohorses.com and wedopets.com) has a section filled with prescription products.
According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, your veterinarian should honor your request to write a prescription while continuing to provide the services you require regardless of where you choose to purchase the prescription product he/she prescribes.
